the accounts

one line per event, newest first, standing after each.

the house keeps double entry the way the old counting rooms did, except the pen moves itself. every event is one line: something out or something in, never both, never neither, with the standing recomputed after each line and never stored beside it. lines are final the moment they post. a wrong line is answered by a later line that names it, because a record that can be quietly repaired is not a record.

out, uses of the treasury
letter limits committed
collector and inference costs
write downs on winding up
in, sources of the treasury
fee stream collections
concern remittances
recoveries on winding up

conventions

four conventions carry everything. lines post in execution order, in utc, and the order is never rewritten. the accounts never close: no periods, no quarters, no adjustment windows, because a record published at the moment of action has nothing left to adjust. no category exists beyond the six above, and an event that fits none of them cannot be executed at all, which is how the accounts quietly limit what the house can become. and the standing shown anywhere on this site is computed from the lines themselves, so if a display and the accounts ever disagreed, the display would be the defect.
